At the end of 2018, the construction of the research brewery began at the Institute of Electrochemistry on around 100 square meters, where beer and brewing have been the focus of research ever since. Even with a centuries-old drink, there is still a lot to research, be it new process technologies or the influence of different ingredients on the end product. The chemistry of brewing entered the curriculum in the winter semester 2021/2022. Four different events give students an insight into the science behind beer. The Research Brewery website gives you an overview of the brewery and the topics that are researched there.
